Sophie Sandolo has been nominated for ESPN Page 2’s Hottest Female Athlete of the Year. The ESPN Page 2 editorial project currently publishes photos and the accomplishments of ten outstanding and attractive women in sports in the Page2 section on ESPN.com.

In 2007 it is so sad that we still judge female athletes on their bodies and their sexual appeal. You would think in this day and age we could begin to see the incredible value, talent, and strength women bring to the sports world without having to join the rest of our cultural institutions in reducing these women to sexual objects to be “evaluated”. Don’t you think it is time to break the cultural tradition of giving women status and value solely based on her looks? I hope you do, and some day join the struggle for gender equality for women in sports.

I think Anna Kournikova is the hottest woman athlete hands down. There may be many others who are worth mentioning, but no girl can compete in my point-of-view.
